ATAC - The Road Less Traveled

The Academy of Texas Aquatic Champions Swim Club, ATAC pronounced "attack", is a USA Age Group Swim Team with workout groups in the general I-635 North and Preston Road area. Our Swimmers come from various communities and schools - throughout the Dallas area - ranging from Allen to Coppell to Rockwall - and all areas between.

ATAC began practices on September 2, 1997 with 85 swimmers on the team roster. In it's first months of existence, ATAC took 4th place in the TAGS (state meet) - the highest finish of all North Texas swim teams. Our members range in skill from beginning novice, all the way up to Senior National Champions and Olympic Trial qualifiers!

ATAC's motto is: "ATAC, the road less traveled". We are innovative, experimental and creative in everything we do. We continue to make headway in guaranteeing that our operation is first class, from office technology to meet organization to superior training methods. We focus on offering the best in clinics from renowned swimmers, coaches, and motivational speakers, assuring that we have the latest information regarding training and technique.

Our goal is to be the best, not only in the US, but on the planet. We want to be and provide "the best of the best". We encourage our swimmers to develop their skills through practice and regular team competitive experiences both locally and out of state.

United State Swimming is the backbone sport of the United States Olympic Sports Governing Bodies, having won more medals in Olympic competition than all other sports combined since 1960.

ATAC believes it is most important to provide today's youth with something they can look up to, be proud of, and to gain a sense of direction and self worth. Age Group Swimming, with over 300,000 participants, has been providing a vehicle for tomorrow's leaders since the 1950's. It is ATAC's intention to improve on what has been established and take Age Group and US Swimming to the next level, and into the next millennium.
